Polyimide VT901
VT-901 is the Ventec material reference for MDA free, UL-94 V0, glass reinforced polyimide (GPY V0) copper clad laminate and pre preg, meeting IPC-4101C slash sheet 42 (IPC 4101C/42) . With a Tg of 250oC, a Td of 390oC and extremely low Z axis CTE VT-901 has an extremely high cross linking density, and is ideally suited for high temperature, high reliability applications and will withstand multiple soldering operations. VT-901 uses a propriety resin blend formulated to maintain an excellent bond strength at high temperature and to reduce brittleness and improve performance during mechanical PCB manufacturing processes such as drilling and routing.
Typical applications for Ventec VT-901 (GPY V0) laminates and VT-901 pre pregs include high reliability military, defence, aerospace and space applications, down hole sensors for offshore oil & gas drilling & exploration, IC / chip burn in boards, power supplies and high reliability backplanes.
The Ventec VT-901 (GPY V0) product range includes a full range of laminates from 0.002"/0.05mm to 0.125"/3.2mm with a range of copper claddings from 12-210um as standard, and a full range of standard laminating pre pregs manufactured using 106, 1080, 2113,2313, 2116 & 7628 glass fabrics as standard, with a range of resin contents available in each glass style to suit your application.
Ventec can also offer VT-901 pre pregs using glass fabrics optimised for laser drilling manufacturing techniques. In addition to standard laminating pre pregs VT-901 is available in low flow and no flow variants, as well as VT-901 106HW a polyimide pre preg with ceramic filler specifically designed for filling etched areas in heavy copper weight cores and clearance holes in metal cores (copper Invar copper) used in polyimide multi-layer PCB build ups. The ceramic filler reduces shrinkage and inhibits the formation of cracks in the filled areas greatly enhancing in service reliability.
To complete the range Ventec offers VT-901H (GPY HB) a UL-94 HB formulate variant, for applications where self extinguishing properties are undesirable.
